I’ve been doing lots of art type stuff lately but nothing to show for in pictures. Work continues on organizing my crafting studio and I’ve been busy in other parts of the house as well. This means not as much creating time as I would like.
However. I did decide today to see if I could draw. Turns out..I sort of can. So…that’s neat. I used to say that I could barely draw a stick figure. Tonight I made this puppy. Then I painted it with watercolor. My spots didn’t turn out just like I wanted but I’ll cut myself some slack since it was my first time.
Hardly perfect but yeah, with some practice maybe I can draw.
I also created this ATC for Grandpa tonight. I was organizing my Pinterest boards and came across so many sayings that I want to turn into ATCs. My plan is to randomly make him a love note and put it in his lunch. I’m sure he’ll be tickled. Luckily the only time he comes to my blog is when I show him something. That way I get to show it off here before he sees it.
I found this amazing score of tiny rick rack at Goodwill the other day. I can’t even begin to explain how thrilled I was. Partially because it was the tiny stuff and partially because rick rack takes me back to the many, many, many, many hours of my childhood that I spent in fabric stores. Ah yes, even then I loved notions. Still really not digging hand lettering these ATCs but thus far my attempts at a transfer that doesn’t smear have failed.
