A while back I came across some beautiful images for found words/found poetry. It was something I told myself I’d try someday. Then along came the diva’s challenge #236. The challenge was to tangle on something unexpected. I took a deep breath and headed for the bookshelf. I’ve collected a few books to use in mixed media projects.
I ended up picking a page with some words that caught my eye. I had no idea what it would end up saying. I just eliminated words until it said something. The interesting thing is that when I showed it to Grandpa he read one thing. When I showed it to someone else they read it another way. I had to laugh because I only ever saw it one way and there it was staring me in the face…question perception.
In case you were wondering I read it as “look for happy now” but it’s also been read as “look happy for now” “look happy now”. I love that it can be read in more than one way.
This one took me a while longer to do because of the size. I had a bit of a time getting the shading because the paper didn’t want to hold graphite. I finally got it sorted out though. I have no idea what I’ll do with it but I will be trying this medium out again.
I’m still working on building up subscribers, if you’d like to follow along and help build the audience for a new weekly Zentangle challenge then go read more here.
Until next time,
