Been away a while. Stroke. Recovery. Blah, blah, blah. I’m sure I’ll talk about that as we go but for now. I’m back. And since I’m not able to work I have all kinds of time on my hands. I am also very easily distracted. So I promise nothing.
Today though, doodling. Zendoodling. ZenTangle. Whatever you want to call it.
I’ve heard about it several times but it finally stuck long enough for me to look into it. I accidentally signed myself up for a free month of Kindle Unlimited. I wasn’t able to find any of the authors that I was currently wanting to read so I got to searching. First I found this book [amazon text=Zen doodle: The Art of Zen doodle for Absolute Beginners&asin=B0106RV8NY] and honestly I wasn’t overwhelmed. It was free with the program I signed up with but the description of the book is nearly as long as the book. However, it was enough to encourage me to keep going.
So, I doodled this…
and I enjoyed myself. Back I went to Amazon where I found [amazon text=Zen Doodle: Tons of Tangles&asin=B00GFT7ZSA] and [amazon text=The Zentangle Untangled Workbook&asin=B00HCQWYAE] and last but not least, [amazon text=Zentangle Untangled&asin=1438718300].
First I did the workbook assignment. I quickly realized I hated the pattern I was drawing and decided to rush through so I that I could get to doing something I wanted to do. I stopped right then and changed what I was doing. So far I’m finding I’m not such a fan of structured squared off things. I like to be more fluid.
Then this one I did just for me. I have one I was working on yesterday but I didn’t have as much doodling time as I would have liked.
So that’s what I’m up to. I’m also doing some painting and I’ll post that as I go along.
I don’t know how chatty I’ll be but I’m aiming to at least put up what I’m doing even if it’s just a snap of something I took for Instagram.
