With Labor Day this week The Diva’s challenge was posted on Tuesday instead of Monday. It made me appreciate how much I look forward to her challenge each week. This week it looks like we get to learn a new tangle that was introduced at the CanTangle workshop this year. The name is CanT and the Diva provides the step out on the post.
The first Monday of the month is UMT (Use My Tangle) which is new to me since the Diva was on vacation when I came across her. Normally it’s a reader’s tangle but this month it was provided by Chris Titus, CZT.
I completely admit that I just wasn’t into this pattern. Maybe it was the week. Maybe I just didn’t want to work on a grid. As I was feeling uninspired by this pattern, I went to check out some of the entries. I had read several people mentioning that they got lost while working the grid. I endeavored to move my focus on the repetitive pattern. I found my zen when I worked on all of the lines and curves going one direction and then turning the tile and continuing that motion. It definitely increased my pleasure working on the tile.
When I completed CanT it occurred to me that the tile wasn’t complete and needed a border to better showcase the original border I had penciled in. I liked the simplicity of Barberpole. Admittedly I rushed through the border. Later in the day when I was getting ready to take my photo I realized what a rushed job I had done. I sat down, took some nice deep breaths and went back in with my 005 to clean up the lines. And there you go.
And now for some shameless self-promotion. I’m working on building up my subscribers and once I do I’ll be hosting a weekly challenge. If you are interested in more details you can read about it here. If you don’t care about the details and want to subscribe you can use the form below.
