I admit to being a busy crafter this past week. I have set myself a personal goal to create a gratitude themed artist trading card for every day in November. This has turned out to be a little more challenging to my time management skills than I expected.
On top of that I’m also attempting to make time for a Zentangle challenge each day from the four that I follow. The challenges I am only participating in if they speak to me. And so, today I give you I am the diva’s weekly challenge #243 “Just a tiny taste.” I knew it was going to be a good one when I cringed.
This week we are challenged to not fill up the tile. Now I love filling up every little nook and cranny. Like, really. So not only are we going beyond white space, which I can do okay but it’s more. Just…blank. Over half is good. More in the line of 60-70% blank was the goal.
Boy oh boy! The first thing I tried to think of was something open. I immediately thought of Frillee. I had been playing with it last week. I decided to really take my time with it and spent quite a bit of time with the 005 just rounding out areas. Normally I don’t do the rounding until I’ve completed the tile but this time I rounded after each element.
Then I decided to take a step away from my norm and try a shading technique that I had seen before. This shading isn’t meant to be blended and the look it gives is…different. I’ll work with it some more before I decide what I think.
