I have a confession. I love watching video tutorials. Whew. It feels good to get that off my chest. I have a few folks I enjoy watching. Tim Holtz is entertaining as all get out. I really enjoy watching him at conventions. When I watch him playing with the products and just chatting away I feel like I’m just sitting with a fellow crafter who loves creating as much as I do.
Here’s the thing… (isn’t there always a thing with me?) I watch these amazing crafters and artist as they show me their creative process. It’s always so neat and tidy. I don’t mean that in the literal sense. What I mean is they seem to already know everything that’s going into the process.
I’m not so much like that. Four times I announced this tag done. Three times I was wrong. I’m happy as all get out with how it turned out. The first time I announced it was done I had the wrong ribbon on. I felt like it was wrong but once I showed it to Miss Holly it was the first thing her fingers went to. I could tell it was off. I knew I had the shape right but once I found this sweet velveteen rick rack ribbon…ah…yes.
Once the ribbon was in place I felt like something else was missing. After digging through my nicely organized embellishments I found the bling that was missing. Along with a little sticker for the hole punch, just to give some balance. I couldn’t even begin to guess how many times I went back to touch up this little bit of ink here or there. I did have some fun detailing with pen in several places.
After another day of periodically visiting this classy lady in the studio, I nodded to myself. Done. Definitely done this time I declared. Except….there was this space that wasn’t right. To my box of words!
There we go!
I adore her! It’s going to make me sad to send her away some day.
Have you got any random art to share today? If not, go make some! Until next time…
