The great thing about a card sketch is the versatility. Since learning to break a card down to basic elements, I’ve found that I’ve been able to get a little more creative.
Take this card for example. On the surface, it may seem a bit complex but let me break it down for you.
I started with the idea that I wanted to layer two rectangles. Or maybe a rectangle and a square. I found a vintage postcard that I loved and cut it into two parts. From there I cut two pieces that were just slightly larger to use as an under layer.
Instead of using a larger sentiment, this time, I opted to use a small sentiment that was balanced on the edge of some washi tape.
For this card, my image was a bit of a mixed media collage but there’s no reason that a person couldn’t use a stamped image or anything else.
It’s your card, make it a reflection of you! Change the orientation of the sketch or make it on a larger card. Embellish it up or keep it simple. As always my card sketch comes with just the sketch or measurements to guide you on your way.
I’m looking forward to seeing how you use this card sketch. If you’ve used this card sketch and would like to share your finished card with everyone fill out the Mister Linky below. I can’t wait to see what you’ve made!
Until next time…
