Inspired by the shading I was doing, I wondered what would happen if I shaded with dots. I started with my thickest pen and did a dot border around the outer perimeter of the shape. Then I kept building circles with smaller pens. Finally with my 008 pen I went in and filled in the spaces as it seemed correct. I was very happy with the outcome.
Once I tangled each section I went back and did a little shading with the pencil. I definitely like using the blending stumps but I need to try some different pencils. Oh darn, a trip to the craft store. I have such a hard life!
So I present #6. I told myself I was going to remember the tangles used so that I could list them but it didn’t happen.
I looked a few of the entries from The Diva Challenge. It was great to see all the fantastic renditions of the theme. I can’t wait for the new one, which will be tomorrow. I’m also keeping my eye open for a few other challenges. I think I found one at The Tangle Corner. I’m not sure if it’s a weekly one or not.
I find myself thinking of maybe doing a Zendela. Someday. Not just yet. I’m still learning control over my hand. I’m really amazed at how quickly that has improved. Plus, who knew that pressure made such a difference?
While grabbing the first link I found another weekly challenge to check out. It’s Joey’s weekly tangle challenge and it looks like it’s active. I’ll be watching for that one this week as well. I think three is enough to start with. I don’t even fool myself into thinking I’ll do them every week but it’s a good way to get a nudge in a new direction at least.
Now, I have a border to finish on the first doodle that I tried shading on so I’m off to work on that.
