This simple card was inspired by a couple of ideas I’ve seen recently. I decided to also try the lettering in watercolor this time around. I’m not quite as happy with the results but you have to give it a try before you know.
I toyed around with finding a stamp for this but I ended up going with some random objects. I wanted the larger circles to be less defined. In order to get that look, after inking the stamp I pressed it a couple of times on scrap paper and then did my best impression of someone who doesn’t know how to stamp. I liked the unevenness I ended up with.
The color is provided by wax pastels. I went around the inner portion of the circle with the pastel and then blended it slowly to the center. As this is for my brother-in-law I didn’t embellish like I normally would have liked. It left me with a feeling of the card being incomplete but I’m sure in time I can work out those issues. As it is this is going to be late. Yay procrastination!
Until next time…
